- One of the definition for 'Point' in the 1828 dictionary is 'Exact place.' I believe that means to be exact in our focus.
- Focus takes concentration. We can't focus very well without something to concentrate our focus on.
Merriam Webster: 'A main purpose or interest.'
Scripture Thoughts: 'We must begin with focus or we are likely to become like those in the well-known prophecy about people in the last days—“ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim. 3:7).
Quotes: 'It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.'
- 'Purpose' is defined as: 'The aim or goal of a person: what a person is trying to do, become, etc.' Without focus, we are unable to become who we need to be. To know our purpose helps us see and keep our focus.
- I feel that a PROCRASTINATION is an opposite word for FOCUS. Here is the definition for Procrastination, 'To put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done.' I think that we sometimes put off focusing on something we need to, maybe even especially when it's important. Something to think about... :)
Scripture Thoughts: 'We must begin with focus or we are likely to become like those in the well-known prophecy about people in the last days—“ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim. 3:7).
- This is something to really think about. We can't really say 'I'll begin on it now, and focus on it later.' I think that's a form of Procrastination. Focus should always be the starting point for anything.
- I think it's true. Without focus, we are able to still learn things, but we never actually get the point of why we are learning it.
Quotes: 'It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.'
-Aristotle Onassis
'Successful people maintain a positive focus in life no matter what is going on around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures, and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.'
-Jack Canfield
My Personal Definition: I think that focus is a form of true devotion to what we know is right.
